My name is Ed, and I am a 77-year-old hunter with arthritic knees, when I first contact Marco he sent me a questionnaire wanting to know explains that Marco sent a my limitations and or abilities.
On opening day of the bear hunt, I missed a shot. Although Marco was disappointed, he know my goal was to get a Beak with my cross-bow and continued to give 100% toward me having a successful harvest.

Marco spends a LOT of time and effort to make your hunting experience one of the best you will have. I have hunted from 10 years old, or for the last 55 years and this is the first time I have hired a Guide (outside of an African Safari where they are mandatory) and had an excellent experience and learned a great deal. My hunt was for Bull Elk. We were a bit hampered by weather, snow and rain, and still managed to have an enjoyable hunt. We did see game and quite a lot of it. I was unable to connect with a nice Bull but did see a few. We did a lot of hiking and glassing and covered almost the entire hunt unit. The camp was very comfortable with good food and a cozy heated trailer. I am looking forward to another hunt with Marco in the near future.

I hired Marco on a 1 on 1 late rifle elk hunt. Marco did an exceptional job locating, scoring and putting me on elk. The first day I harvested a 330 class 6×6 bull elk. 6 weeks after triple by-pass surgery Marco set me up in a ground blind on his best water hole and 30 minutes after daylight on opening day, I harvested a 6 point bull elk. Marco, thank you for a great Coues Deer hunt in October. You were able to get us deep into the woods and did a great job glassing canyons for an animal. This hunt was for my son Kohl who, along with his life long friend and fellow baseball player Liam, drew Junior Cow tags. Growing up in Montana, I have used guides in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho and this hunt was by far the best hunt I have gone on. My son and his friend both filled their tags thanks to Marco who consistently had the boys on elk the entire time hunting. This is an update to a previous referrence letter. We had packed it in after 3 days of hunting without filling our tag. Marco kept at it and tlaked us into coming back up for the last day of the hunt. He had us on Elk within the first hour and I had the biggest bull I’ve ever shot down before sunset. Marco is a great guide that really knows his stuff. I can’t wait for the next tag as we will be hiring Marco again!

Marco did an excellent job of scouting and providing all the necessary equipment and expertise for my late season rifle elk hunt in unit 8. The weather, unfortunately busted our hunt when it snowed a foot on opening day and another foot the next day. Then the rains came and flooded access to critical locations. However, Marco was persistent and determined to get us every minute of hunting time available. His equipment operated flawlessly and was very comfortable. He didn’t even panic when the wind blew over my porta john. I really appreciated everything he did to make it a most memorable experience. He provided a camp trailer that kept me warm and comfortable, provided all the cooking, snacks and drinks, and shared his vast knowledge of hunting and of the game we were hunting. Even though I brought my own rifle, I chose to carry his as it was more suited for the terrain we were hunting in. My definition of a successful hunt would one in which we saw elk and had at least one opportunity to take a shot. Aside from not seeing any elk that we could move on, the hunting experience itself was amazing. Marco was very accommodating in every aspect and I would highly recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a hunting adventure of a lifetime.

This was my third hunt with Bars Hunting Service. I harvested a 6×6 bull on one elk hunt. Marco did a good job of scouting. Marco is the most knowledgeable guide I’ve had. Marco showed me deer 3 days of a 4 day hunt. I had my chance – I missed a trophy buck.

I had a Southern Arizona tag, and Marco scouted the area for a couple weeks prior to the hunt. I booked 3 days, and we saw deer and at least one buck every day. I missed a 200 yard due primarily the dreaded buck fever. It was above average heat, and the deer weren’t moving in the afternoon that much at all. 3 days hunting, about 13 total deer with at least 3 bucks. When I booked the JR hunt, I booked for a Friday, Sat, and Sun hunt. My schedule at home changed, and Marco was extremely accommodating in allowing me to hunt Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This was no issue at all for Marco, and greatly appreciated to allow these changes. When we rolled into camp Friday, Marco had a fire set up for us and a great campsite. Marco let me and my son sleep in his trailer to stay warm. I 100% recommend, I have booked 2 other hunts with Marco already.

I had a great hunt and shared a great camp. Marco showed me many Bull Elk. We hunted for “the one” several days but were unable to close the deal. With two days left in the hunt and a weather change, I decided to fill my freezer with a young bull. This was my first Elk hunt in 16 years due to not drawing an Arizona tag. Even residents have to wait it out sometimes. Thank you Marco, I had a memorable hunt and the freezer meat is exceptional.

Great scouting experience led to a great Hunt!

After extensive research, I found Bars hunting service on the net for our Jr. Turkey hunt. I met Marco in Phoenix, and immediately felt comfortable that I had made the right decision with Barshuntingservice.com. I had been on 2 Turkey hunts previously, but my lack of knowledge on a variety of issues, prevented us from finding birds. Marco spent several days in the field prior to our hunt as well. The knowledge that Marco shared with us, was like being in guide school. My son loved everything.

Marco is an experienced knowledgeable outdoorsman. During my hunt mother nature was not in our favor i.e. wind, rain, hail that lasted for 4 days, and the full moon. With the adverse conditions we still were able to locate game but couldn’t close deal on an ethical archery shot.

I was archery javelina hunting for the first time and unfortunately was not able to recover the first one I hit due to shot placement. I talked with Marco about how upset I was and he was able to tell me a few things I could try differently. He also told me to wait on taking a shot until I felt more confident and not to rush. With this in mind, I went out the last weekend of the season and harvested a nice sow at 15 yards with one clean shot. We hunted hard in some challenging weather conditions. Dave, my guide with Bars Hunting Service, was knowledgeable of the hunting area and very savvy of elk. On the fourth day of our hunt, Dave tracked our bull in the snow for about a 1/2 mile. I had an easy 100 yard shot across a canyon. Dave turned out to be quite the elk wrangler + packer, as he had to carry our prize up out of the canyon. I couldn’t have been more pleased with a hunting experience.
