Unlike Whitetail, I hadn’t been around Elk much and was surprised at how quickly they can move out. Nothing Marco could do in that regard, I should have been quicker initially in getting my sights on an Elk whilst Marco was busy analyzing the animal and others nearby to determine if it was the one.

I’m fortunate that I’ve hunted with guides over the years and I appreciate a guide like Marco. He really understands Elk and knows the terrain very well where we hunted. Marco did a great job of not only finding game but of anticipating where they would most likely go and how best to get there ahead of them if a shot hadn’t presented itself. He also shared his vast knowledge with me including insightful information of how the age of each animal determines their breeding patterns and behavior.
